Default First Snow 2004!

OK, I had the Boxster over last year's winter, but I didn't have a digital camera. We're in the midst of a winter storm and I came home for lunch (..and for good!). Boxster did well...although it looks like it went through white hell!

Man! Thank the Lord for sunny 75 degree winters! Sorry Doug, but I am sooo NOT envious of your situation! FWIW, my truck is up visiting the snow without me today. And I like it that way .

You really should buy some clip on mudflaps from Tweeks (Mid Atlantic). If not, you will sand (salt?) blast the paint off of your lower fenders and fender lips. BTDT.

Snow IS hell...don't get me wrong. I'm just glad I have a Pcar that can handle it. But for most winter driving, we take the Subaru!

Dunlop Wintersport M3s. I really don't have anything to compare them too, but I think they're great. I've driven my brother's Boxster with Blizzaks, but only in the dry. I can tell you the M3s have a better feel in the dry anyway. Of course, my brother is VERY impressed with the Blizzaks in snow.

I run them on another set of OE 17" wheels...

I'm guessing he has Blizzaks or Pilots. I have the Blizzaks LM22 on my Boxster and they are perfect. You just have to drive carefully that's all. I remember driving with summer tires for 2 months and had no problems ( I had to avoid uohills though ). But snow tires make a BIG difference. They will prevent you from sliding on the road every 10 seconds and driving 30mph on the highway.

Oops my response was too late. I think what kind of tires are irrelevant when the sky starts dropping over 6 inches. I actually don't worry about me driving but the other cars. That's why I have a beater ('93 Jeep ) on the side just incase some people lose control of their car and hit me.

What I like about driving the Porsche in the winter is empty parking lots, because it's DONUTS TIME!

We posted at the same time. You must get into work early, too?!

If I had my preference, I'd like another Subaru or something to get me through the winter. But for me it's one (working) car right now, so it has to get me through the white death. And the Boxster is great for it!

...mmmm...donuts...

Default Right Back At Ya Amigo - 986 S Eqauls Big Fun !

My 996 is just as sweet in the snow - I love the look on peoples faces when they see me in any of the P-Cars.
