Default Help ! 97 Boxster dumping coolant

Hi, I replaced a cracked coolant reservoir in the trunk last week and have been unable to get the car to stop dumping coolant when parked hot. I suspect a bleeding problem. The 97 had the bleed line on the block and the '98 and on moved the line to the top of the oil cooler. Are the '97's hard to bleed?

I have tried filling with the tail high and reving the engine etc. Seems to run a little hotter than before also...needle in the middle of the zero of 180. Doesn't boil over all the time but often enough.

Any help greatly appreciated!

DID YOU OPEN THE BLEED VALVE ON TOP OF THE COOLANT TANK?

Default Yes

Yes, I opened the bleed valve many times. I think this is a MY 97 issue. Will try Vacuum fill tomorrow and see what that does.

Default Vacuum Bleed Did the Trick

Used a MityVac AirEvac to bleed and fill. Seems to have solved the problem.

Nice tool.....about $100.

Make sure the coolant cap is on very, very tight. If it is not on tight enough it wont leak when it is running butt the coolant will blow by the threads when the engine is stopped.
