Default Something unusual in Panorama

In the new issue of Pano is this Boxster, supposedly brought to a Concours by a local dealer. Are those PCCB's on the Boxster S?? If not, are dealers painting calipers now???

For $4520 CDN, you can order Yellow Brake Calipers from factory. Option CRF.

$4520 CDN, that's like what $99.95 US? Geez that seems to be an awful pricey option if it is just the same calipers painted a different color, that yellow paint must be more expensive than the silver paint used on the 550 model.

I'm assuming the yellow though is caliper yellow and not speed yellow right? It looks lighter like the yellow on PCCB's. Probably one of the reasons the dealer still has that Boxster, who wants to buy a car off the lot that immediately has a dealer $1100 "gravy" option added?

We've actually ordered a couple of Carreras with this option. Having seen it on a Speed Yellow car, I think the colour match is close. It's the same colour as the PCCB calipers, so if you've seen those, then you'll know what they look like.

Apparently, they're so expensive because they are not painted on the usual brake assembly line at the Brembo factory. They're done seperately on the custom shop line. I guess in Europe you can special order your brakes to match the car. The yellow calipers are painted on this same custom line. So it's kind of like the Paint To Sample option on our cars.

Remember, yellow stops better too:
Black calipers = ok stopping power
Silver = better
Red = best
Yellow = awesome!!!!

I kind of like the silver ones I got on my Anniversary model. At first I thought I'd miss the red ones but they look very nice with the painted wheels.
