Default 5 speed connector help

Help identify connector please. This connector is on the drivers side (us) of a 5 speed manual transmission (99 Boxster). Bought the car completely disassembled and I am now ready to install the power train back in but I can’t figure be a connector for this plug. I’m thinking it is not used on the Boxster but on a different vehicle and it is an output speed sensor. Can anybody out there confirm?

That connector is not used. From the factory it had a yellow cap overtop of it. I have no idea what it's actually for. Given it's location it could have perhaps been a transmission oil level sensor that Porsche did not use in the US market cars.

There is another connector above this one which is for the backup lights.

Thank you. That’s exactly what I thought, but I did not take this car apart (bought it as a basket case) and wanted to be 100%.

my 2 cents is that it is a speed sensor for another make.
