Default 2000 Boxster S with 1/2000 build date - Dual row IMS?

I have a 2000 Boxster S with a 1/2000 build date

Since my car was literally built in the first month of 2000, can I assume it has the Dual row IMS?

You can assume... but you can't be sure unless you get in there and look at it. I have looked at three engines from 2000 base models and all three were dual row bearings. I also have a failed 3.2 engine from my 2000 S which was a dual row (not an IMSB failure) and the replacement engine that I installed in my S was from a 2001 S, with an engine build date in 2000 and a single row bearing. I would assume you have a dual row.

Good info, thanks!

I guess you never know unless you look, but I like my odds. And the dual row bearings don't worry me.
