So the seats in my silver 2001 Boxster are getting pretty tired and should probably be recovered. The car is pretty plain looking. I’m curious if replacing the seat covers with red will help spice it up a little.
Also, what brand seat covers have others used successfully?
Lseat is the route I'm going when it's time. My research revealed that, absent any upholstery experience... taking it to a shop is the route I'll be taking.
I had a 2016 MX-5 Club, I didn't care for the all-black interior and thought about doing red seats. My only gripe was that I thought the door card inserts and dash should match. So when I bought the '19, I was thrilled to have the Auburn interior where bits match.
However Mazda now offers "terracotta" which is just redish-brown seats in a black interior. It doesn't look as unbalanced as I originally thought, the public generally loves it, and lays groundwork for your idea of just doing the seats. It seems that Lseat . com has an inexpensive replacement in a variety of shades of red. Perhaps matching it with a shift and handbrake boot would really tie the room together.
