Had an unfortunate accident this morning in my 2000 Boxster S. First snow of the year happened the evening before, but it was mostly melted by the morning. My winter beater had a leak in the rear right tire, so I decided to take the Porsche. As I was accelerating on the on ramp to the interstate, and I saw a 4runner getting squirrely in front of me. Let off the gas, but wasn't enough. Spun the car 720 across two lanes of traffic, into a fence that recently got put up to stop cars from sliding all the way across the median into opposing traffic. Sheared the eccentric bolt for the rear toe alignment. Somehow drove it out of the snowy ditch and on to the shoulder. Had roadside assistance tow it back to my house. Still need to diagnose the full extent of the damage, but if it's just the eccentric bolt and some body damage I'll count myself monumentally blessed. There are a lot of semis driving on the interstate in the morning, and I was fortune enough to find a gap in them, as well as the rest of the traffic. Hopefully a new bolt and alignment will get her back on the road, and I'll get to teach myself some body repair in the mean time.
