I agree generally, but the SCOSCHE one is quite compact, which is why I chose it. When the phone is in it, you can’t see the suction cup behind it while driving.

As I noted earlier, when oriented horizontally, it tucks the phone in at the junction of the bottom of the windshield and the dashboard, which minimizes the obstruction of your vision from the phone.

I don’t like the vent-mounted ones because I use the mount mainly when I’m using Google Maps to navigate and the vent-mounted ones place the phone down below my range of vision, requiring me to take my eyes off the road.
