Default Oil pan gasket

What is everyone using for your oil pan gasket material? Loctite 5900 is not easy to come by and permatex lists an equivalent of ultra black. Interested to hear thoughts.

Also, tried to do the right thing and order new bolts from Porsche and they came in 5mm shorter than the ones that came out. Wouldn’t be a big deal except for that is almost 50% of the penetration and it exposes the threaded holes that pass through which is a corrosion point waiting to happen. Would you 1 use old fasteners 2. Use hardware store bolts or 3 install the shorter bolts. Original were approx 21mm (probably 20mm in reality) long and the replacements are 16mm long.

Hey Dllrd23,
Not any help on the sealant, but I'd go with new correct bolts from Porsche. Takes all variables out if you get the actual bolts you need. Can you return your order with explanation and possibly they'll replace with correct ones? Probably not the answer you wanted if in a hurry!

I used Loctite 518 which can be picked up at your local Napa.

I used 3-Bond or the equivalent, available in many motorcycle shops.

I used reinzosil, much easier than squeezing the 5900. I got that product idea because I saw it came with the Pedro 2 qt deep sump.
