Default Jacking up my Boxster

I had to lift my Boxster today due to a flatted rear tire and found my trusty hydraulic jack didn't fit underneath the vehicle; even the high side. Is their a certain jack everyone uses? I ended up breaking out the supplied scissor jack to get the vehicle high enough and then squeezed my hydraulic in.

Thoughts? Specific name brands/sizes?

Thanks,
Carl

As related question, I have been wondering where the appropriate lift points for a hydraulic jack are. Can anyone tell me or post a picture indicating where? Thanks.

Auto part stores now sell an aluminum racing jack. It is about 90 bucks. It fits under my lowered Boxster no problem.

So once you jack uo the car using the reinforced areas behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels, where do you put the hack stands ?

Just Curious !

I believe that that is the design flaw of the car. so. jack the car up using the rear jack point. The whole side will go up enough to put a jack stand on the front. repeat this process for the other side. Its seems that fronts only at the same time then when you are done with work on the front end, put the wheels back on and lower the car down. Now you can do the back using the the front jack points. Would it be just perfect if the car came with internal air jacks from the factory! One can dream.

Yep, just like a formula 1 car ! Oh yeah. That would jack up the price quite a bit too.

I think it's just Porsche's way of trying to get you to go to the dealer again.

This is how I do it. At least when the tire is not flat.

Toolpants, Nice of you to take the time to mark the jack stand points. I assume the x's are where to place the jack stands. I like to rotate my wheels left & right after each track event and this will help with the aformentioned dilemma.
Thanks

X is where we put jack stands. 2nd pic is rear and 3rd pic is front.
