Default Price on 550 Boxster?

Are there any deals (discounts) out there on these cars? Are they selling well?

Well I got as far as to find out it would be stupid to trade my 01 S which had a list of 68K for the new 50th. They were not talking discounts on it. You might do well with a reg Boxster or even an S, not likely on the 50th. I was however motivated to paint my black bumper pads to match and splurged on a new rear plate frame and smoked cover. Oh well...I love the car, what can i say.

I didn't, I misread the question and thought it was being asked of me.

The local delearship indicated to me on Friday that they would "deeply discount" the one 550 they have because they have had way too long and had no interest. Of course they are in a very small market and their inventory is usually not more than 1 or 2 boxsters a PepperPot and maybe a 996 of some sort. (currently they have 2 boxsters, 1 Pepper and no 996's). The are a multi car delearship and sell a much greater number of Audi's, MB, BMW's and VW's.

Default ...way too long ??

...near as I can figure the deliveries started last month. Since there are '03s still around, I'm wondering what is "way too long". Apparantley a few weeks with this dealer.....take the deep discount and run.

I agree with Dennis. The dealer I bought from received 3 550's on Saturday, April 3rd. They were all gone by Monday the 5th! They were sold at sticker - no discount. (except for mine because I had ordered one in December and took one of these instead)

Take that deal before the dealer comes to his senses!

I just delivered one of mine that I had to a customer who flew down from Ohio to get it and drive it back. I believe she paid in the $58,000 range. There are some good deals out there on these cars. We evaluated putting her into another Boxster (she had a leased '01 that she was turning back in) with the options that she wanted and a Boxster S. The 550 ended up being the best "bang for the buck". Had some more options than she necessarily wanted, but I believe the resale value will be there down the line. She purchased this one instead of leasing.
I have already had two phone calls from her thanking me because she is totally in love with her new car. I have heard about the drive thru the mountains of Virginia in both conversations. Bottom line...she loves the car and is happy that she went for the 550 S.
I have access to 4 more that are already in inventory yet I don't see any "fire sale" because of lack of interest. However, these vehicles do have "room" to be discounted.

I can't speak for other dealers, but I know there's no way we're discounting the three 550s we're getting. We've delivered two of them, and have the third and final one sold three times over.

Having said that, now that Boxster production has been halted (effective with July build), we only have 6 Boxsters and 1 S left until the new body style next spring/summer. Translation: no discounts of any kind of Boxsters here.
