Default Temporary wheels

I’m hoping someone can help, I’ve been gifted a 986 minus engine and transmission and wheels, I need to move it ASAP and I have a spare set of wheels from my 2006 cayenne. It’s not a permanent fix, just enough to get the car on the trailer and back off. It doesn’t have to look pretty, the wheels don’t need to pivot just be able to physically fit and allow the car roll on. The car is a 4 hour drive so I don’t want to get there and have a nasty surprise.

If they fit... I'd do it.

a 2006 cayenne had many different wheel sizes. It should physically bolt on, but they may be way too tall or the offset might result in the wheel hitting the strut.

I'd take a real good look at the height of the tire as well as the width and offset.

I really only need to know if they will physically fit, as in clear the chassis and components, I'll take the tires off and drag it up on the trailer by the bare rims if that would work, The rims I'm talking about are the 8x18 ET57 with 255/55/18 tires are 738mm diameter, the 235 35 19 on the 8x19 ET45 has a diameter of 647 brings the tire 45mm closer to the wheel arch at the top, which is possibly okay as i'm not driving it and its stripped down, its the fact they rim is 12mm further inboard and the tire 22mm. The height discrepancy is the same on the rear and I have a load of low profile rear tires so that's not a concern, it does sit inboard once again but this time only 7mm, the rears I'm using the 9.5x19 ET45 with 265/30/19. I was not to keen on buying some rims just to put it on a trailer as I'll be redrilling the hubs to put my wheels back on. once I get it home. But it seems that may well be in the cards

I'm guessing they will not bolt-on,(lightweight designed sport car vs Full size 4wd SUV!) weight matters.

I think you are right, I was hoping to throw some wheels to get it home before I put my electric drive in it. In the grand scheme of things an extra few hundred dollars is not going to break the bank

Just a thought: assuming the car has the mini spare, pick up another used one for $150. Between the 2 spares on the front and the 18s", I think you will be fine.

I wish I could take the risk, but a 4-5 hour drive each way and a language barrier means I’ll have to go on the pictures. I grabbed a set of 17 inch Boxster wheels that will get me home. Now I’m hoping my spare Tesla S wheel bolts will work. The 996 RSR widebody parts have been ordered so there’s no going back now.
