Hi guys. I just picked up a 2000 Boxster S today. It's very low mileage with just 25,000 and change on the clock. I figured it'd be best for peace of mind to change the bearing, likely with LNE. I have records that regular oil changes were performed, but being a low mileage car for that age leads me to believe it would be best to get it changed. Wondering what the collective hive mind says?

if you are looking for peace of mind just do it. The anxiety is not worth it.

Do it. Replace it.

You won't go driving down the road with a new bearing thinking to yourself, man, that was expensive. I wish I hadn't replaced it.

You may however spend some of your precious Boxster driving time contemplating Russian Roulette if you don't replace it.

Almost guarantee your risk tolerance is different than mine. So is your budget.

I ask people two questions.

How would you feel if having done the bearing, something else failed and the engine blew up or car was totaled?

How would you feel if you haven't done the bearing and your engine was totaled?
