Default April 4th GW Bridge - Bannerman Castle - HOOTERS Run

Sunday, April 4th GW Bridge - Bannerman Castle – HOOTERS Run + Bonus Paterek Brothers Concours Workshop!!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, this is the first big meet of the 2004 season and boy do we mean BIG!! We have a great time planned for you all!!

AGENDA:

8:00AM
As the name suggests, we will be meeting at the Palisades State Park on Henry Hudson Drive just north of the GW Bridge on the NJ side of the river.

The entrance into the park is via East Palisades Avenue as it passes under the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
This is the entrance sign:

We will assemble n the parking lot a short distance down the road in the park.be set up to take photos of cars both individually and as a group. We can meet with all of our old acquaintances as well as some new ones.

ARRIVE WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS and bring an FRS Radio Tuned to Channel 7 Sub 0

9:00AM Sharp!!
We will depart the park and proceed up the Palisades Parkway into New York State.

We will follow the PP to the end and across the Bear Mountain Bridge

to follow Route 9D north along the eastern shore of the Hudson River. There will be a location to temporarily park along the way to grab some Castle photos. If you are interested in some good Castle pictures, bring a pair of hiking shoes because you will need to take a 5 minute walk that can be a little rocky and muddy. (Hani (03C4S) did the walk so ask him if you have questions about this aspect). The Bannerman Castle can be viewed from that location. This is it:

Here is the Bannerman Castle link: Bannerman Castle

And the Bannerman Island link:

Is this event restricted to 6-speeds? Are you going to treat us 5-speeders to second class status?

What is a "FRS radio"?

Motorola's website says an FCC license is required for these. Are they for real? Do you really need a license? How long does it take to get one?

A license is only required for certain advanced functionality (longer range). The basic functionality (shorter range) does not require a license and is open for public use just like citizens band radio.
