Hi Phil,

Have a 97 2.5 ( now 3.4) even changed the springs and shocks...

Have been driving ard for 1 year and a half with 18"...no problems

However it is not recomended for the 97-98 when i checked with my OPC, some structure strenght issue which they improved on the 99 models

hope it helps...

cheers
James

It is only the 1997 which 18" are not approved by Porsche. 1998 is ok and in fact Porsche sold optional 18" wheels in 1998 for a 1998. My friend has a 1998 with 18".

With that said there are other owners like James who have 18" wheels on a 1997. Just stay away from cobble stone roads. Jeff
