Default 986 PSA - check/adjust your spare tire pressure

I was out this morning on a spirited run with a friend (2000 Ferrari 360 Modena) when, at the exit of a fairly low speed turn on a rough road I heard a loud bang. I was sure I didn't hit anything. Turns out I blew my right rear tire out. Must have hit an unseen pot hole or something. Swapped the spare, which was pretty low on air, but had enough to get me to a Gas Station several miles away, where I filled it up. You never know when you might need that spare! 60psi. I'll be checking all the other spares in the "fleet" today. Happy motoring

I replaced mine last year. The replacement is a bit larger than the original on an 01. It's a tight fit in the designated well, so I deflated it to about 20 psi and carry a little compressor that I got for my motorcycle. My old tire was almost 20 years old, and looked fine, but out here in the west, it can be a 'fur piece' between cities and a brand new tire is for peace of mind. About $100 at Tire Rack.

All my vehicles get a pressure check once a year.
