I have a 98 Boxster with the hardtop. I have found the female plug for the rear window defroster but cannot find the hardtop end. The dash switch shows that it is working but there is no defroster plugged into the receptacle at the drivers seat plug. Any suggestions?

Does your hardtop have a defroster grid (lines in the rear glass?) If it does, the connector should be somewhere on the driver's side of the rear window. The wiring runs from under the trim panel on the left up to a receptacle on the rear of the left rollbar, From then on, the wiring should have been supplied by the maker of your top. It should all be very obvious, if the top doesn't seem to have a place to plug in, it may be that you don't have a rear window defroster.

The glass has the grid and I found the female plug nxt to the rollbar but no wire hanging down from the hardtop. Next time I take the top off I will dig into the corner of the trim and see if I can find the wiring. THANKS
