Default Repair/Removing Rough Patches on Leather Seats

So a few days ago this spot showed up on my leather seats, it is rough to the touch and is clearly visible on the seats. Not sure exactly how it got there, but my best guess is someone spilled something or it came off of their pants. Anyway, I've tried cleaning it with leather cleaner and even going as far as using leatherique on it, and it doesn't seem to go away. Any recommendations on how to fix this or at least make it look/feel better? Below is a picture of what the area looks like:

My guess would be...it looks like someone was riding/driving the car and had some kind of chemical on their legs that transferred over to the seats? I would just keep leather conditioners on it for while. If it's discolored, then purchase some leather dye from seat doctors.

Chances are that if you try to make it better, you will only make it worse. With that said, I had the same problem on my seats and I used sandpaper to lightly sand it and make is smooth. Then I used dye to recolor it again, in addition I used leather crack filler to fill in the cracks and lines. It came out really good. Do a search on YouTube for leather repair or leather dye. There are some good videos on it.

I used seat doctor on the entire bottom portion of my seat but noticed that it's very shiny. Did you guys have that issue?

This is solid advice, but the only caveat I'd add is make sure you use a very very fine grit. Something like 1500 or over. That way you retain as much of the original dye/seat material as possible and only need to do a light touch up.
