I guess I should have been prepared for this, but my water pump seems to be leaking. I have the former owner's maintenance history showing that it was replaced less than 25k miles ago, by the same shop that it's at now. Is it reasonable that it could have failed with so few miles? In fairness, it was six years ago.

What pump did they use? There are several out there, not all are as good as the Genuine Porsche pump.

The shop receipt shows the PN as 99610601155, so it should have been Genuine Porsche, I believe.

The aftermarket pumps use the same part number. You would have to inspect the part and find the Porsche logo on it to make sure it was genuine.

Oh, OK. I questioned their use of a Laso pump and they said they would never and only use OEM parts. For the $800 quoted, I hope so.
