Default Fabspeed vs Borla Exhaust

Just bought an 03 Boxster 2.7L and want a sport muffler. I had a Fabspeed MaxFlo on my last 911 and it was good. I like the sound of the Borla and it's $500 cheaper that the Fabspeed for the same cat-back system. Any thoughts on the fitamint of the Borla.

Hi Jim,

Congrats on the 986!

I'd recommend our Maxflo for your 986 - gives the cars a refined, improved sports car sound and also helps free up additional power and shed approx. 30lbs from the rear of the car.

Install is by way of a direct bolt-on replacement, no cutting/welding required and also no Check Engine Lights.

Take a listen:

A few months ago I replaced my entire system, catalytic converter failed, with the Fabspeed. Night and day sound, absolutely worth it. I would imagine that most of the improvement in sound comes from the muffler. There’s a little bit of drone on throttle between 2k-3k RPM, and of course it’s a bit louder. But I can confirm it’s less than 92db as I had no issues passing sound the first time I took it out to Laguna Seca.

Unfortunately, my motor then failed on track....
