Shawn - don't forget BaT - they have had some amazing Boxster deals lately. I had an 03 S tip, and loved it. Great car. Drove it in winter here in Pittsburgh. Spun it around once on ice, but my Jeep would have spun on that ice too. Otherwise, a solid winter car. Ithica gets lots of snow though, so not great if the snow is deep - a low car "plows" it and causes you to get stuck (I lived in the southtowns of Buffalo for 7 years, plus Montana - I've know snow pretty good).
Anyway, having met your daughter, she'll be fine in a Boxster, altho a shark is actually a safer choice, but more maintenance intensive (wait, you already know that)

I'll tell her you said so, Ed. That will please her. She wants a Shark! The Boxster is a compromise.
