19" 11-width wheels on 986 Boxster (help)
I have a 1998 boxster that I'm planning to upgrade the wheels on soon. I currently have the stock 17" wheels (7" width front, 8.5 rear) on, and I'm thinking of buying a set of 19s (8" width front with 235 35 ZR19 tires, 11" width rear with 295 30 ZR19 sized tires).
I'm new to modding boxsters and any advice is appreciated, I know about willtheyfit and I'm trying to figure out exact what spacers I should use. Has anyone else done this before (specifically with 11" wide wheels) and is there anything I should watch out for? I've heard about possibly having to tie back the ebrake cable but don't know how to, can anyone here give instructions or advice? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure why people want to do this. It looks weird, degrades performance, and gives you the real possibility of rubbing under compression. Just because you can physically stuff something under the wheel well doesn't mean you should.

I agree with Quad's post completely!
If you really have your heart set on this though I recall somebody posting pics of this not too long ago and it did fit. However, you need more info then you've provided. Widths of rims are only half the equation, you also need the wheel offsets to see where those wheels will sit relative to everything else and to even begin to compare them to the 17's you have.
I changed up from 17 to 18 on my 986 but did so using wheels that are specifically meant for a 986 Boxster base or S and I'm happy with that result.
I think more info is required before you move forward.

Would 18x10s and 18x8 fit then?
I'm trying to get options, I've seen cases of people using 10inch rears and 8-inch fronts. The fronts are et 50 and rears are et 40. I'm asking just in case, should these fit? Are the fronts too wide?

I've got a Tequipment book of accessories for the 986 Boxster and it shows several wheel styles available at that time.
The two styles they show in 8" and 10" have a ET 50 and ET 47 respectively. If my knowledge on offsets serves me right I believe an ET 40 would push the rear 7mm or 9/32" out, it doesn't sound like a lot but you never know. It could depend on suspension height at that point.
