Default Flat battery, cant stop alarm

2004 boxster s, electronic bonnet opening. flat battery.
read the book. Connected positive to red in fuse box and negative to door hinge. Alarm goes off and i cannot stop it. Tried all sorts of key turning and fob presses but to no avail. Bonnet will not open.
What do i do????
Also i read somewhere that all boxsters have the emergency cable, true or false?
Thanks.

Based on your using the word "bonnet" I suspect you are in the UK. Some UK cars -- it seems to be more popular there than other places (for "other places" read USA) -- have some kind of extra security system installed. This system detects when main battery power is lost and sounds an alarms.

There is an emergency front trunk release in at least some Boxsters. (Rumor has it early Boxsters *may* not have this -- I have no first hand experience with early Boxsters.)

I believe this is located in the passenger side (USA cars) front wheel well. You may have to remove some wheel well liner fasteners to pull the liner back enough to get to the pull.

With 12V power you can connect to a power lug in the fuse box that when pushed extends out. Ground is the door latch catch. This is emergency power just sufficient to open/close windows and the front or rear trunk latches. It is not intended to use to try to start the car or charge the battery etc.

Thanks for that. I shall search for the wire trip which i now think it has.
However, when i attach the external power as in book, using the key in the door does not turn off the alarm as per the book. Any other suggestions? Must be some combination of key turns in door or dash? Thanks.

Can now confirm that i found the secret wire and got the bonnet open. New battery required but all well. Wire now rerouted so that it is accessible through the towing eye hole. Thanks for help, John
