Wooden vintage steering wheel install

Wooden vintage steering wheel install
I'd like to install a vintage-style wooden steering wheel. I just like the look and think my Macadamia 2009 will look great with it.
I think NRG is the only supplier with a suitable hub adapter, and they make nice steering wheels too. I've researched removal and install. But everything is geared toward track only cars. Is it possible to just add a 3 ohm resistor to the airbag wire to trick the car into thinking the airbag is still there? The car will need to pass inspection and of course a dash light would be annoying.
Are there any other gotchas in figment that would make this just not work?
Thanks! I've been rabidly reading the forums as I start modding this car. It only has 18,000 mi but there are wear marks on both steering wheel and shifter that started me thinking about vintage wooden surfaces. Hoping this works!
