Recently purchased my first Porsche, an 87 944. While the vehicle was in transit, I got forwarded a link to an Autopower Bar that connects to the floor pan under the seat, and the two upper pilar seatbelt bolts (Technically 4 points, but not the normal ones).
I'm having a hard time seeing the same bar online, and the feedback I've gotten is that it's better not to even mount the bar due to safety concerns. It has a diagonal bar on it, but no harness bar..
Thoughts.. Mount or not to mount...
Looking to use the car for AUTO-X and the occasional HPDE with the BMWCCA and PCA.
I have the Autopower cage bolted in my car. Mine used to be the same way as yours with the bolt in diagonal. I cut the tabs off for the harness bar and the diagonal and welded in the pieces of round tube instead. I got swayed out of actually racing with the cage because of it being able to punch through the floor during a rollover, which really defeats the purpose of a cage. But for Autocross, the bar or cage is pretty good IMO.
