Yet another sunny Pungo autocross! Came in 5th overall, but was just a tenth of a second between me and third. Kinda ticked at myself I couldn't pull it down. I keep driving my r-comps like they're street tires; need to push that little extra bit harder...

Quick question for the DC area SCCA'ers; My pops and I are just getting into Autocross (actually he's getting back into after lots of years away and I'm just getting started). We've done a couple of local PCA/BWM events but we're toying with the idea of doing the occasional SCCA event at FedEx. We have a stock '72 911T (that used to be an I-class PCA racer - I'm not even sure the I-class still exists) and are trying to figure out which class to run. We're more concerned with seat time than being competitive. A quick look at the 2012 SCCA stock classes, says that any kind of early 911 is likely in C-Stock, however, we don't want to sign up for an event in C-Stock, and then look like jerks if the car should actually be C-SP (or something else). Any clues?
Also, I've only done three events (my fourth will be this weekend w PCA); can I just show-up and drive or do I need to go through an official SCCA Autocross School?
Apologize for hijacking the Video thread but it looks like there are a couple of local 944 guys (one stock class - Dan) that might be able to help me. I tried e-mailing the local SCCA guy and haven't back from anyone. Thanks guys.

If your 911T is truly stock, it is in C Stock, if you have done mods, such as different torsion bars, rear sway bars, etc. (shocks and front sway bars are "open" in Stock) you're in BSP.
SCCA does not require you to attend one of their AX Schools before running a regular autocross, though it's not a bad idea. Most regions will put you in a handicapped Novice class and provide course walk-thrus with experienced drivers giving you pointers before the event.
