Default East Coast Porsche Autoxers - WE NEED YOUR HELP

Once again Central Pennsylvania region PCA is hosting our annual Porsche-Corvette Challenge. Last year's event was a blast and we expect this one to be even better.

The event is on Sunday September 25th at the Hershey Park Giant Center parking lot (one of the largest AX lots in the country). This year the Corvette guys are going to set the course so we anticipate lots of pin turns followed by long straights (not the best course for our nimble P-cars).

The Corvette guys are bringing 2-3 SCCA National champs. So we need entries from faster P-cars than we normally get locally. But regardless of which P-Car you have please come out and support the good guys.

Go hear for registration: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...136CA988169609

Or contact me directly alanpozner(at)gmail.com

Be there or be square :-)

To sweeten the deal there is talk from our club eboard to offer some tow money for out of town P-Cars. Nothing set in stone yet but if this appeals to you let me know.

Also keep in mind that true street tires (140+_ treadwear rating) get a 1 second deduction to their time so even if you are not on race tires you may win.

I was invited to, and participated in, the Philly Region's AutoX event at Warminster on Aug 6. Bunch of real nice folks - even for a novice such as myself.....hardcore too! I never heard so many different cars bouncing of rev limiters. I would love to attend, but the state of MD insists on raping folks trailering cars. I need to find a nice toll free way to get up there!! In the meantime, I'll stay down here in the DC Region

I believe if you can work your way over towards Rt 15, you can take it north all the way to Harrisburg without any tolls. But not sure how much the extra distance might cost in gas relative to tolls on I-95.

Tony - thanks for the pointer! Wasn't really looking forward to an attempt to go over the Susquehanna Dam with an H2 and trailer...

Very tempting as I am not at Devens that weekend or the weekend after. Temptation sorta gets squashed by the thought of filling up the F350 Superduty 2 times there and 2 times back + hotel.

I have run/managed several of these challenges over then years. FTD is a no brainer for raw time but putting a 1.7 liter 914 against a 427 Corvette needs some PAX indexing.

Last year was fun! If I can make it out there, I'll do it again. I believe last year the top five (raw) were Porsche-Vette-Porsche-Porsche-Porsche, and of the top three Porsches, the all were air-cooled 911s -newest was a 1983!
