I don't know what new Shelby you're talking about, but rest assured that it's subject to the exact same equipment allowances as the 911.

How do you reconcile that statement with the fact that many smart, fast people think the 996 is the car to have in the new A Stock, and the 996 GT3 is the car to have in Super Stock?

Given how much you complain on this forum, perhaps you should consider the latter option.

utkinpol, I don't understand your post. Maybe I am missing something. Are you saying that base 997s and S models should be in A stock? Look at the other cars in the class. I think the 996 is very well classed with the new 2010 rules. I agree that the base 997 might be a bit outclassed in Super Stock but I agree with the SCCAs position to bump cars up rather than have a single model outclass the rest of the field.

After quite a bit of research, the widest factory wheel for NB 996 (like my Anniversary) is 18x8 front and 18x10 rear (which is my stock size).
However only for MY2004 WB 996 (C4S coupe and cabriolet), porsche had the factory option of Sport Techno wheels (18x8, 18x11) or GT3 wheels (18x8.5, 18x11).
So I'm stuck with stock wheel widths on my NB 996 AE.
