Default Tire Pressure Recommendations for Auto-x-ing 996

I will be autocrossing my new to me '01 996 for the first time in a few weeks. What are some recommended tire pressures for front and rear? The car currently has Conti SportContact 2 with 225/40ZR18 fronts and 265/35ZR18 rears. The suspension is stock. I previously ran a 91 MR2 Turbo with Hoosier R6S tires. Would I expect to manipulate oversteer or understeer with tire pressures in a similar manner as the MR2? Are there any other tid bits of info that would help get me up to speed on this car?

I'd start at 40psi all around and go from there.

I ran my 996 with about 2 to 3 lbs of pressure lower in the front. So 40 in the back and 38 in the front. make sure you chalk to the sidewalls to see where the tire is rolling over.
