"Don't hit cones" is a two-edged sword, though... if you're not hitting cones at every event, you're either not going fast enough, or you're staying too far from the cones. Either way, you're giving up time.

I've ripped the lower front splitter off, ripped off the passenger side lower rear molding and damaged both front wheel liners. I've never done anything that would prevent me from driving the car home. Guess I should carry some extra coolant and some repair pieces for if/when it happens.
I'm pretty sure every time I damage something, it's not from a random cone. It's from taking out a wall of cones--we're talking penalty times measured in the half minutes here. I'm wondering if having multiple cones ram up under the car at once can cause them to wedge in weird places?
