Default Tobay AX - Metro NY PCA

Has anyone ran with Metro NY PCA when they have had an AX at Tobay? Thinking of taking my wife along this weekend to have a go but not sure what the corse is like. Is it a high speed corse with 100mph 3rd gear zones or is it more technical and twisty?

I've run both types of courses at Tobay. Given its likely the first event of the year, it shouldnt be "too technical" or tricky.

I last ran there when the Zone 1 autocross was being held there (maybe 2002?)

Its always cold out there.. right on the water.. always sandy, gritty breezes. Unless your wife is also driving, she could turn on you as quickly as the weather

Dan, it will be windy as heck as its right inbetween two bodies of water. So dress warm.

The courses are usually pretty wide open, but technical enough you more than likely will not get out of 2nd gear. Basically leave it in 2nd gear and just drive. Its one of the best lots in the area.

This is a typical Tobay lay out..

I've never done one before but after the PCA prep event a few weeks ago I was ready to run at tobay this weekend and then my wife reminds me we have a bday lunch for her mother on Sunday. spoiled! Think she realized how much those rear tires cost...

That video is great.

Too bad Jay, we need more cars in the P11 class. Hope to see you at the next one.

My boxster isn't ready....which is a shame since the competition is a lot easier in S5 than P11.

Oh man, check the wind chill forecast......

how ya' gonna get around a course if you can't find the beach without a nav screen?

it's a town beach. Located on Ocean Parkway. Do Nav's have places of interest searches?

Not sure what the exact address is, but its easy to find.. directly off Ocean Parkway. The lot is only accessible when heading west however. If your coming from the east, there is a turn around right by the entrance of the lot.

A little windy this morning, but bearable. Warmed up nicely by noon time. 9 runs in (or was it 10?). My first event in my 951.. actually having power on demand is going to take some getting used to!

Jon,

COOL! So everything's back together I guess. I think I'd like to try some AutoX. What's the next one you're going to? I'd like to see what it's like.

There is another Metro event at Tobay in two weeks. The NNJR opener is in three weeks at the Meadowlands.
