Default How do you mount your Racebox?

I know it has good magnets but my 991 GT3 has aluminum roof and hood. I saw @stellman uses a suction cup mount on the rear window. Any other approaches? Would leaving it in the centre console work?
edit: I am talking about Racebox Mini

It needs to be solidly fixed to the car where it won't separately move at all. I used a heavy-duty pump-up suction cup type when I was using it on a non-magnetic surface.

For best reception it should be attached outside and located in the middle of a metal panel.

I have used one inside, attached to the interior of the windshield so it had a view of the sky not totally blocked by the roof. Had some success with that, but sometimes got erratic data.

I've been thinking about this lately myself. I was thinking about doing velcro on the bottom of the Racebox and then putting it on the rear parcel shelf but I'm not sure it would hold it tight enough. The other one I thought about it stitching a metal plate to the rear parcel shelf and then the Racebox would attach to that. With the rear window it should get a really good view of the sky. My current outside suction cup solution isn't bad, but wondering if there's something different/better, heh.

I know on the 981 there is a little tray for the tire inflator kit under the front panel just aft of the frunk. We hard mounted the Racecapture Mk3 there and it works great. It should be similar for the 991.

Tried it on my roof yesterday very briefly (718 GTS) right behind the antenna (thinking the flat edge there would help keep it stable especially under braking), and it just didn't have anywhere near enough friction for me to feel comfortable driving with it. This is on a very clean, ceramic coated paint, but while it was stuck it moved with barely any force - so magnetic mounting on a Porsche roof not recommended, steel or not!

GPS puck is magnetic, so for storage when not competing we put a plate with adhesive on the plastic tray under the frunk, fished it through one of the holes and stick it there. During competition, open the frunk, and let it sit on the A pillar or front fender area (steel).
