GT4RS ends up in SS. My only concern is I really don't want to put the letter SS on my German car 🤔

I have actually done this swap in a 996 (very similar to the 997) it is not a simple "bolt on trim level" and this is my point. The chassis r different and there is cutting and welding involved plus 100s of different parts. This was my point and its not opinion but fact. As it relates to being legal in the class to swap all the parts over was not what i was reffering to.

You’re still missing the point. While a GT3 is “special” from a street car, feeling, emotion etc point of view. It’s not special from a level of performance relevant to an autocross class with no rules. No one is going to spend 1000 hours in the shop making a forgery GT3. No one is going to start with the turbo tub and cut the fenders off for narrow body etc. there is no reason to spend time for that level of nuance when chassis modifications are essentially unlimited. If you can’t understand why the class shouldn’t be afraid of a gt3 street car, when unlimited 997 race car is allowed, all I can say is that even the XS committee understood why that’s problematic, and it was the root of why all Porsches were removed from XA and XB last year.

To be fair, both Ferdinand and Ferry Porsche were officers of the SS, as was Anton Piëch, so this isn't exactly a stretch.

The most important takeaway re 4RS to SS from this latest FT is that they still collecting inputs. I wrote my letter to keep it out of SS and in SSP which would at least allow them to gather data without eliminating a fairly new car (GT4) from ANY SCCA class, something they've taken great pains to avoid in prior years (think new Twins cooling heels in STR vs STX)
