Default how many autox-s per set of tires?

Appx. how many auto-x events do you get per set of R compound tires? (Hoosiers, Kuhmo, Yoks, -including Azenis etc.). Just thinking ahead for next season if I decide to make the switch.

Really depends on a lot of different variables, Jim. Car, driver, how hard you are pushing, road surface....

Hoosiers tend to be stickier, but do not last as long (humm, almost makes sense, does it not?).

Kumhos, at least the Victoracers, last longer, but are not quite as sticky. But, they do tend to work pretty well up until they cord.

Don't have any current experience with Yoko's, or Azenis.

Its impossible to give you a real number of events per set of tires, but I personally get about 2 seasons (maybe 15 events) out of a set. And I don't run them until they cord, so I could probably do better than that.

Jim:
I used Pirelli P-Zero C's last season. They are about the longest lasting R-compounds out there.

My season consisted of 14 DE days, and 9 autocross events, plus I drove with my R-compounds on to a few track events.

I have a 911 but I autocross a '99 Miata in C stock (SCCA classification). I can get more than 100 runs out of Kumho Victoracers. I just went through my first set of the new Hoosier A3S04's because they corded after 40 runs. The performance dropped off after steadily after around 20 runs. But the Hoosiers are far and away the best autocross tire until proven otherwise.

A big factor will be the length of the track. The PCA San Diego tracks are pretty much always 1+ mi. in length, Your mileage may vary

I have set of R3S03s I ran last season.
Got prolly 200 AX passes and 150 minutes of track time on em and they are still good for more. I got a full season out of a set of Vracers and, at the end, they were about half gone

Both the R spec Hoosiers and Kuhmos like a fair amount of negative camber.
I run -2 deg at both ends. Camber (or lack there of) will effect wear.
My car is fairly light (21-2200 lbs). Presently I'm running the A3S04s and they are ....wearing more quickly....but they are lovely

I found that Kumho Victoracers last about 160-180 runs. Azenis lasted about 200 runs plus about 6K street miles. I'm currently on Hoosiers A3S03 and have no clue how long they will last. Discovering Formula V tire softener seem to have helped a lot (A3S03 I'm running are 2 seasons old but with not that many runs on them, I did 24 and the previous owner did about as many).
