Default Driver door oem speaker issue

I have a 2007 997 with non-Bose system. I've been noticing lately that when I drive the car for a long time the speaker goes off and then it turns on by itself. Today, it did the same thing but never turned on. Instead, it make a very low static noise.

Should I troubleshoot or replace it with another oem speaker?

Thanks!

sounds like it may be the amp but almost impossible to suss out via internet. Try swapping that speaker into other side and see if it works, and that will eliminate if it is speaker or amp, or try swapping good speaker to static side. Both options have risks as if it is a faulty speaker it may damage other sides amp channel, and if it is faulty amp it may damage good speaker, but as speakers are usually sold in pairs I would try swapping good speaker to bad side first as at least that way if it gets damaged you can replace both. The point is to eliminate weather speaker is gone or amp channel. Once you determine whats at fault you can fix problem.
good luck
