CDR-30 iPod solution
I finally settled on a setup that works well for me. My car has no PCM, so there's only a 1/8" audio in plug in the rear center compartment. This setup is low profile, easy to operate with one finger, keeps the iPod charged, and easily removable and concealable. Hope my findings help someone else.
- Apple iPod nano (newest clippy postage-stamp one)
- Kensington charger/line-out audio cable - Tetrax adhesive magnet set - Griffin low-profile cigarette lighter USB power outlets
I went with the Griffin instead of the Kensington USB power outlet since the Griffin is has two ports (one for my iPod, one for my Android phone), allows the ashtray cover to close, and doesn't appear to draw any power (the Kensington has a light).
