Without audio/music I would have nothing in common with my Father-in-law and he and his wife are currently living with us. I've helped him getting all his gears since he moved to the USA a few years ago. He has amass quite a few pairs old Tannoy speakers (no cabinets).
He is into simi-vintage stuff like old Tannoy speakers and MCIntosh equipment. My current system is more modern stuff like Bryston, NAD, and Cambridge.

Funny, I found that as I got older, I retreated to the comfort and convienence of my home hifi and mostly abandoned the live music venues. It's really a shame. Especially thinking back on the great times and shows at those very clubs mentioned in the article.
