I was kidding, ya doofus.
Actually, I listened to all of Dark Side of the Moon and the "A" side of Machine Head by Deep Purple tonight.
I'm going to settle into the "fortress of solitude" to watch Iron Man 2 with my son (wife and daughter are at a friends) in a few minutes.

Dark side of the moon is one of the few LP's that rattles all the glassware in the house. The 180 gram version I have is amazing sounding although I think the heavy vinyl version of Supertramp Crime of the century is one of the better recordings I own. The bass line on Donald Fegan's Morph the Cat is mesmorizing if you have never heard it.
As far as Diana Krall goes there are few female vocalists I don't like. Early Carol King the Tapestry LP is outstanding work and her voice although rough was still strong back then. I will even suffer through Linda Ronstadt although I am of fond of her music.

Right now I'm listening to Carol King & James Taylor Live at the Troubadour. My wife bought me the CD and DVD combo after we saw the performance repeated on PBS the other night. Great songs by Carol King and James Taylor's voice is a good as ever.

When was this recorded? I saw them back this summer and her voice was gone. Still enjoy the music though.

November of 2007 for the 50th anniversary of the Troubadour. Her voice wasn't too bad for this performance although she's clearly lost a lot from the old days. Taylor is the one who impresses me; almost 60 years old (at the time of the recording) and still pitch perfect with his range intact.

A 20 year heroin addiction, starting in his late teens, will do that to you, I suppose. Taylor freely admits he made a lot of really bad choices, but to his credit he got help (several times) and finally squared his life away. Drugs and the music biz, who would have thought......

Try Luz Casal- a Spanish pop star. I heard her in Miami this past Spring and was enthralled. Very, very well recorded CDs too.
