Ill take pictures later but i do have a pretty ok setup for my little duplex

Denon 2307 reciever (will be upgraded to a pre at somepoint)
Emotiva XPA-5 power amp
Klipsch RF-7 Mains
Klipsch RC-7 center
Klipsch RB-75 rears
Klipsch RT-10d Sub
Denon dp-37f turntable
Panasonic 54" S1 plasma tv
A PS3 for Blu-ray duty
and a nice Media Center PC that streams from my gaming box/storage
C2D E6550 overclocked to 2.8ghz w/ a Scythe Ninja CPU cooler (fanless!), 4gb ddr2, ATI 4550 silent video card, Antec sonata 3 case. Super super quiet and very capable.

Its all a bit much for a 18x12 room but i will be getting a larger room in the future! A totally kickass setup for gaming and movies.

I'm still trying to figure out why so many different units would be required. Figuring out how to connect them all together must look like a 1930's telephone switchboard. LOL.

Although that was an era in stereo that is long gone today. I used to think the SAE equipment I had was great but things change.

The units are not all connected together.
There are many systems within each wall.
These are pics from collectors and thus, their collections.

I have this MC252 solid state amplifier, all 98 pounds of it. Also the C220 vacuum tube preamplifier below. To my ears, tube input and SS output produces an agreeable, pleasant sound.

Yes, I agree. Pride in manufacturing for 60 plus years in Binghamton, NY.

As an aside, and I don't know if it's true, but AAPL/Steve Jobs apparently pays an annual licensing fee to McIntosh for use of the "MAC" name.

Certainly wouldn't think they worry about the check clearing. Last I read, AAPL is nearly worth as much as XOM.

I have always been a Mac fan, had at one time a Pr of MC3500's, It would be interesting to hear how it compare's to there best today. I still remember to this day the uncontrollable groan i would let out , every time i had to replace those 16, 6LQ6 tubes ...

I agree. I went with a shindo tube pre and a pair of accuphase A30's bridged for mono operation. 240 class A SS watts with an openness and clarity I am quite happy with. Build quality on par with mac which has also been a favorite of mine and still have several units although I have become more infatuated with Accuphase lately.

Accuphase always made seriously competitive stuff, years back we had done a few show demos with there beast of a class-A amp. Love the stuff, horrendously expensive and with a lot of competition( as good and better) have kept one away from my room.

They recently changed their lineup and replaced the A30 with the A35. Same amp in general identical specs, except they use more Teflon in their circuit boards. I can't tell the difference in sound myself and these in bridged mono sound as good as the A60 in stereo to my ears. I was able to pick up the last of the A30's at a deep discount and full warranty. They were worth every penny. Any of their current or recent previous line of class A amps are phenomenal although outrageously pricey new. In bridged mono form they really pack a lot of punch with an incredible sound stage. I really enjoy how they bring out all the subtleties and nuances in the recording. IMO they have all the best of what both tube and SS offers in a SS unit, coupled with a tube pre I finally found the sound I was looking for.

I just got a new setup for the office. HT Omega Claro sound card for preamp, Bel Canto S300 amp, Mark & Daniel Ruby speakers. Will snap a pic when I get a chance.

I've been more focused on room setup lately as opposed to gear. "Guide to Sound Engineers" is proving to be very useful.
