Default 997TT purchase advice

Hi there - this will be my first Porsche. I did 996TT for about a week but unfortunately it was plagued with mechanical issues so dealer bought it back. I am now considering a 997TT and am considering the following two cars:

http://inventory.mgmsl.com/web/used/...Ohio/36649175/

2007, original MSRP 150K, 21K miles, asking 79K. marshall Goldman is a known and (i think) reputable dealer. I like the specs but the steering wheel choice is a bit puzzling. I also like the rims (any idea which rims are these?) but to me, the car looks like it's sitting too high - would appreciate your thoughts on that. DME report looks good.

2007, original MSRP 130K, 6K miles, asking 89K. Don't know much about the dealer. This built is not as lavish but I love the color combo. However I think these are manual seats (hidden from photos) which isn't a biggie for me. Anything it's missing? Low miles usually kind of scare me off as I worry car just sat. DME report looks good.

Would like input on price and which is a better purchase.

Thank you!

The first vehicle has a much nicer build than the second but both are missing the LSD Option 220.

The first has the carbon composite brakes which are nice to have unless you need to replace the rotors and want to stay with the original ($4-$5k per rotor?) so make sure they are in good condition with no cracks and have the required minimum thickness.

The second has the basic seats.

It's up to you to decide which is the right one for you!

Id go with the silver mg car, they can hook you up with an aftermarket warranty too. RJ is the guy to deal with at mg. Very reputable dealer, got mine there a few yrs ago.

#1 by a mile. Just please swap out that steering wheel with anything, literally anything else Great choices to have in life! The adaptive sport seats are the only way to go, unless you simply prefer the other seats. I couldn't get comfortable in anything by the adaptative sport seats.

Agreed w/ above. First car is highly optioned, PCCB's are great brakes, and MG is top-quality dealer. Second car has nice mileage profile, but bare bones and color combo is an acquired taste.

69k for the first one with that spec? I'd disagree

Wow, low miles do bring the price I guess. My decision has been made to post my 08 997.1 in 2 weeks. Blk/Blk. 60Kmi.

I would (and did) skip the PCCB brakes. As these cars depreciate the risk of of a $10-$20 K brake rotor replacement will become a hard sell to the 3rd, 4th, 5th ... buyer.

hmmm.... I thought PCCB would actually increase the value long term as it's a desirable+pricey option, sort of like the X50 in the 996TT?

Would you then go with the other car or just keep searching?

PCCB is a very desirable option if in good shape and you're not paying for repairs and rotor replacement. Replace the pads early and the rotors can last a very long time.

You can always take the carbon composite rotors off to store while driving on cheap metal rotors. People recommend this for sure if tracking the vehicle.

And I wouldn't consider a turbo without PCCBs To each their own. Like someone said, take care of them and they will last a lifetime.

Of those two, definitely the first. Agreed about the steering wheel, but it's not a huge concern - one of these would be an upgrade over any wheel, and you can keep the multifunction: http://www.dctms.com/product_ST_PCH_997_987.html

I'd also get a good body shop to paint the front lip and bottom rear plastic piece in body color. Looks like side skirts are already done. Even if you don't lower it, that will make it look lower (and better).
