While I'm usually way in favor of the updated 2009/.2 interior, in this case I'd also go for the 07 with a thorough servicing with fluids/belts/etc. Basically a new car, but with the good mods you already would want to do.

Edit: I'll be interested to hear if they get $78-80k for the 09, btw. Please report back if you can.

low mileage. With driving and people getting in and out of a car, more things wear. Can easily replace the ****ty PCM. I did.

I've owned both. I'm not a fan of modified cars and found that my flashed 07 Tip was not as reliable nor as good as my stock 09 6MT. True, the PCM in the 07 is outdated so I swapped it out for a Pioneer AVIC system which I enjoyed. But, the 09 PCM also performs the same functions so it's a wash. I also prefer last of breed (997.1), lower production numbers, and (earned/unearned) hype surrounding the 09 which will (IMO) always make them "more desirable" in the future.

But, I also have trouble believing on 07 even with low miles is the same price/value as an 09. I've been in the market for a while and would only pay in the $65K +/- for an 07. JMO.
An ultra low mile '07 is basically a new car and trumps the '09 everyday, every nite and twice on Sunday. Remember, the '09 PCM is already outdated, doesn't even stream BT. You can either get a dension unit or a formal modern PCM. I wouldn't let mild, well done mods spook me, I've never had trouble selling a Porsche with well done/ non frankenturbo mods. Get that 07 and forget about it!
An 07 with 5k miles couldn't be bought for 65 unless it has a major problem/cab/tip, I also closely follow this market fwiw, just my .02 having bought and sold several. First world problems

+1 on Chris' comments. I know the 07 you're looking at. The price is fair. AND IT HAS PCCB!

I think they just painted the calipers? Close up of the rotor doesn't look like PCCB and it doesn't list it with the VIN when you look it up.

I would not even consider a 40k TT over a 5k TT. Just have your dealer check the 5k car out, possibly oil seals might need replacing. These cars don't like sitting and waiting forever, just to go for a drive.

Low miles all the way. I bought an 08 with 2000 miles. A new car at 50% off msrp.

Oil seals not an issue on a modern turbo, an aircooled car is a different story bc of the different oils and fuels used today.
Make an offer and buy that sob

Gee, I wish my 2003 low miles Turbo had known that. Might not have developed a transmission selector shaft leak, an RMS leak, spoiler hydraulic cylinder leaks, front diff axle flange seal leaks, and even an inside rear view mirror leak.

It also developed a water pump leak.

I guess your car didn't get the memo
I've put literally hundreds of thousands of miles (dd, sporty driving, track) on my modern Porsches, none developed a true leak from a seal. I had a loose fitting on my 997 spoiler motor, that's about it. My 930s were another story.....

I have a 2009 that seems rock solid at 40k and I see no need to change the electronics whatsoever. So trust your instincts and get the car that speaks to you most. Also, one slight difference between years, I heard that the glue on the coolant pipes was changed/improved by 2009 and might not be quite the same issue. Not 100% on that, but something to consider...unless they have already been pinned or welded. GL

Another vote for the 2007 car with lower miles here. The stereo can be updated with a Denison or Mobridge system, while it can't in the 2009. The interior is essentially identical, with the main exceptions being the newer PCM and black plastic on the center stack instead of gray plastic. There were optional ventilated seats in the 2009 cars, but everything else is identical.

I bought an 07' 2 years ago with 7.5k miles, and love that it feels like a new car.

No issues with not being driven constantly.

Go for the low miles.

I would go with lower mile car, if you get all stock parts with it. If not I would look for another low mile car. When you go to sell having stock parts to put back on will make for an easier sale.

$78-$80k seems like full pricing on both of those cars. Be be patient and you will find a goos car at good price.
