Hey Daniel,

In the US we have the bumperettes. Is that the factory tow hook cover to the right of your license plate?

Beautiful car! And i'm glad you're able to get it sorted. I was also in search of a regular trunk lid to do the wingless conversion, but the electronics kinda scared me away.

Hi, Daniel,
There are 2 ways to do it.
The first way, I did not have much luck with, basically, you have to open un the wing gearbox and replace the plastic slides (with teeth on) to steel slides that are a little longer.
This still gave me errors, but did allow me to use the switch to make the wing go up and down.

The second way, works perfectly, I switched the wing off with PIWIS.
I then purchased a GPS switch unit (called Hummingbird GPS) this allowed me to set the speed for the wing to go up and down (I set mine at 80km/h) I then ran new wires through a new harness to control the motor up and down and to activate the brake light when the wing is up.
I also retrofitted the third brake light panel above the wing (from a regular Targa) so that there is a third brake light for the car when the wing is down.
I ran a small led in the cockpit, where only i can see it, and this tells me when the wing is up.
If and when I don't want the wing to work, i just unplug the harness from the relays.
This has worked flawlessly, and I have had it operating for a year now.
If you need any more info, please PM, and i will send Video and wiring diagrams.

Kind regards

Craig

Sorry I forgot about the Fan.
I used a fan from a 991 Carrera, works perfectly (in fact better then the original.
It uses 3 of the four mounting holes and you have to reverse the polarity in order to get the fan to pull the air .
Lastly you will also have to modify the airbox, by cutting it to allow the lid to close.

Kind regards

Craig

Hi Craig,

I wish you a happy new Year and thank you very much for the Infos.

I don't understand the wiring Problem...

I bought a carrera 4S trunk and replace it with the turbo trunk...
i use the plug from the carrera... I test the spoiler with the onboard Switch and the spoiler comes up and down...

No testing on the road...e

Only thing that doesn't work is the third brake light from the concealing box... I have to wire it, because the concealing box is also from the carrera... Turbo concealing box has no third brake light...

Can you please send me some pics of your engine compartment?

Sorry for bad english...

Thank you

And a happy new year to you too!
When you do drive the Turbo, it will eventually destroy the Gearbox for the wing.
The parts that it will destroy, are the two plastic guides with teeth on them, these move the cables up and down.
I will find the pictures and send to you.
This happens because the electric switch's that control the wing up and down are different between the Carrera and the Turbo.

Best,
Craig

Ah, ok. Thank you.

Do you have a 2s or 4s trunk? The 4s goes higher...

Sorry Craig, i have another Question...

"I also retrofitted the third brake light panel above the wing (from a regular Targa) so that there is a third brake light for the car when the wing is down."

Where can i connect the brake light?

Thank you so much...

Hi Daniel,

The wing was a 2S, maybe a 4S would work better?
My Auto-Electrician connected the Third Brake light to the existing brake lights. I will find out from him, exactly where.
I purchased the Hummingbird GPS from their website:
https://hmbe.com.au/gps-speed-switch...lkhead-antenna
It works flawlessly.
Kind regards
Craig
