Default Sorry for the stupid question but... lol

So lately I been getting fault codes of P2187 & P2189. I suspect it's my MAF sensors but it could also be the the O2 sensors as the car has 72k miles. My question is how many O2 sensors are on my vehicle and if someone could supply part numbers that would be great. I am guessing that I have 4 ,(2) O2 sensors pre cat and then (2) O2 after the cat. Anyone that can help would be great thank you

There are 4 O2 sensors.. 2 pre-cat and 2 post-cat.

See some info here:

Also, most likely going to be the Post Cat O2's that go bad. They are the second sniffer to see if the Cat is working. First one (Pre Cat) sniffs exhaust as it is entering the Cat. Just FYI.

OEM Parts:
Pre-Cat O2 = 99760612802
Post Cat O2 = 99760613802

Be sure to cross reference these parts, as they will be steep from Porsche, but you can find Bosch etc., same part much less.

Good luck.

Rock,

Would you buy both pre/post or just get the post first? I bought new MAF sensors already.

I would just do the post Cat O2's personally. And as I said, go with non-OEM and save the $$. Just get the correct ones.

MAF's are pretty steep too!

Good luck,

Can you check and see if your new Ebay MAF has the Bosch logo "with" the Bosch part number and Porsche part number stamped on the MAF. MAF's are being knocked off and/or refurbished.

From the ad it never mentions Genuine Bosch. It is NOT recommended to run NON Bosch sensors with this engine. Buyer beware..

It would also be nice to see a picture of the ID and part number.

I spoke to many people who own this MAF and it's in their turbos as well spoke to the dealership I go to and their mechanic said the number off the MAF sensor works perfectly fine with my car. Thanks for the info kevin

The answer to my questions pertains to the manufacturer of this MAF.

A Good deal is

A new old stock genuine manufactured Bosch MAF made in Germany.. You bought it from a retailers on Ebay or seller that has a new in box unit..

A BAD deal

Expecting a genuine Bosch MAF that was made and engineered for this engine and what you received is a "knock off" part. If it doesn't have the Bosch logo, Bosch part number AND Porsche part number it's a questionable part which can put your engine at risk.

There are "good" resellers selling genuine Bosch sensors. However, there are cloned MAF's being sold. It's are such an issue with Bosch that they are being shipped with (hologram) Safety stickers on the yellow Bosch box.

Google the Bosch pn on the maf, can usually find one for a lot less without the porsche tax.
