Default Forgive me for asking, DRLs again...

I have an 07 turbo and really like the idea of the LED DRLs. Searching the forum I found threads from 6 months to a couple of more years. Reviews were mixed; some products had controller boxes that died or cases that ingested moisture. Some versions aren't available any more (and not always the ones that had issues). Maybe I should get a clue, but as I said, I like the concept.

Are there currently any well-made, long-lasting ones in the (relatively) affordable range? I'm looking at a set from Taiwan on ebay (item# 112077671640) that includes the controller electronics and oem style plugs for $500.

Thanks,
Woody

That's the one that I have. It has been 2 yrs now and it is still functioning; however, once the module has warmed up, one of the amber blinkers will not blink amber, but rather the white light that is for the DRL. Other than that, it serves its purpose well as a DRL. It's quite bright

I have this kit installed going on 7 months now without any major issues. So far I'm pleased with them and they are bright as well

I installed a similar/same set on a friend's car several months ago and they fit well, created no errors, and were easy (relatively) to install.

I took pictures as I installed....attached a few for your reference. I also installed LED Fogs, 6000K HIDs, and Amber LED Side Markers while I was at it...

Good luck,
DC

Much appreciated, guys, all good info. DC, thanks too for the pics, I will make use of them for my own install. I think I'll give the lights and boxes a tiny bit of silicone at seams or wire entrances, for added insurance against moisture. I don't do a lot of mods, but this one just seems like the way the car should have been all along!

Thanks, DC, one last question. Where is the best place to pick up the switched-power? Is there anything in the trunk, or do I need to go through to the interior as some have suggested?

I'm pretty sure I went in to the cabin and then connected to a key on in the fuse box.

As mentioned above....Unfortunately had to fish it all the way through the grommet in the firewall, and into the fuse panel. These cars are tight! There are a few options you can find under the bonnet, but safest to just go to the panel.

Best of luck on the installs...

DC
