Being a 964 owner I recent decided to add a little more torque to my life. Hence this Turbo addition. Picked up on Friday and spent the weekend terrifying myself. What a thing she is. A few details and pictures -

2007
28,000 miles
Manual (obvs)
Basalt on Black (A little swirly, needs some love and a clear bra...which i'll get to in ASAP)
Passed PPI with flying colors
Short shifter
AWE exhaust (which is a little droney but not terrible)

Nice to meet you.

Very nice - looks great with its stablemate too.
Just picked up my black/black 08 a month back and I'm still blown away by its competence.

One question - did you try any with the regular shifter? I have the stock one and was wondering what difference the short shift kit might make. I've had CAE in Audi and Mini before but I don't want to butcher the interior so was wondering how the short shifter feels relative to stock...

Funnily enough I only drove two, and they both had short shifters. I like it a lot, although I can't give you a comparison. I'm English, so grew up driving stick and this manual experience is very different. Very immediate.

Great collection! They offer such different experiences, I love them both for very different reasons. It seems the TT/964 combo is quite popular.

My turbo came with the stock shifter and I had the Porsche Performance ssk installed. While waiting for the kit I drove my turbo with the stock shifter and once the ssk was installed it made a huge difference. In my opinion, the Porsche ssk should have come with the turbo from the factory.

If you have not done this yet then you want to. I love how my car shifts with the ssk!

@dlb, did not mean to thread jack...

I drove a bunch and the were all regular shifter!
FYI Also English, Also in NY (if I'm reading the plate of your 964 correctly), Also grew up driving stick.

I don't hate the stock shifter but my last 2 cars have had CAE shifters fitted so I wonder if the SSK will get me closer to the "snick-snick" of the CAE without the "because racecar" looks...

Yes, NY. The short shift gives you that 'snick snick' thing. For sure. If you're in NY, come drive mine.
