Default New to Pcars, but dying to get into this 997TT

It's FSBO for $85k with only 27k miles, PCCB, and Sport Seats. The only thing it is missing that I think I would like is the rear differential lock, but I'm not sure how important that is. I would think with almost 500bhp it's almost a necessity. IDK.
Oh, did I mention it has a Gemballa hood that reminds me of my favorite turbo ever?
I'm interested in PCCB for resale value more than anything else and love the way they look. I don't plan to track the car much, if at all, and I hear that's the issue with the PCCB even though that's counter-intuitive.
What do you think about the price on this?
KBB and NADA value it at around $66K, but the US market seems to be demanding more like $75k...?
I'd love your expert opinions if you don't mind helping a brother out.

TIA,
Art

From the blue book value you mentioned it sounds like a 997.1. Given that I would think the value would be 70ish for a manual with those miles & options and $5k less for a tip.

I agree, 70 ish sounds about right... My advice to you would be for a couple grand up and down don't lose a car you Love, meaning color combo, options, etc...

These clean Turbos are getting harder to scoop up.

With an asking price of $85k, it will be difficult to get $10k off..

Good Luck..

P.S. Love the color combo

Don't get hung up on PCCBs...I purposely got the big reds and they are stellar...PCCBs are expensive to replace and often squeak like mad.

As for the LSD, I have it on mine but never drove one without it. It was a pretty cheap upgrade so I can't understand getting PCCBs and passing on the LSD unless it was all about look and not the drive.

I disagree on the PCCB's. I think it's a must have option on any P-car I buy moving forward, but I don't track the car like raclaims, so his perspective is surely more appropriate for that world.

I've never driven a 997.1 without the locking differential, but they aren't particularly stout from the factory, so that wouldn't deter me much either.

Here's the deal on price. Is $85k too much? Absolutely, but as mentioned you will never get the buyer to come down 15k. My guess is the owner will take $77.5. You'd want to make sure that you have all of the records on it and that the expensive fixes are in place. Have it PPI'd and find out things like wear on the PCCB's, coolant pipe repairs, slave cylinder issues, camshaft problems, etc.

I don't mind paying above market for a car that is super well maintained and I don't have to dump another 5k in fixes in it. That's a pay me now or pay me later conversation.

That car was for sale for months before current owner bought it. You can PM me if you want more info on this specific car. I have a friend who knows the complete history of it.

Nothing wrong with big reds, but PCCB's are a must imo as well. They both squeak eventually, can't get around that.

I have never owned PCCB on any car, but if I did, and if they squeaked I'd be gutted.
Especially for the price.

Brake squeal on racing brakes is like clutch chatter on a Ducati with vented clutch cover or a hotrod with lopey idle. Those who know, know it's bad ***.

Thanks for all the replies. It's been very helpful.

Anyone have any opinions on the LSD?

Unless you're going to track it then a LSD is not a show stopper (IMO). As noted earlier you can have a better after market LSD installed if you absolutely need it, but I don't think you will. Also, PCCB's are nice but very expensive to replace.
