997.2 Coupe Information (Production Numbers, Where to Find, Colors)
As described in a separate thread, statistics on the VINs taken from US cars for sale on Autotrader/eBay were used to determine the production numbers for 997 turbo cars. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-turb...or-997-tt.html The 997.2 coupe analysis is complete and summarized below. Note that for 2010 and 2013 analysis the sample size was reduced from 30 to 21 and to 10 cars, respectively, due to the scarcity of turbos produced in those model years. The 997.1 coupe summary data is available here. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-turb...formation.html
2010 Coupe
Number built with US VIN >/= 307
Number built with MT >/= 28
Number of S cars = 0 (Not available for this model year)
2011 Coupe
Number built with US VIN >/= 870
Number built with MT >/= 145 (Available on non-S cars)
Number of S cars >/= 464
2012 Coupe
Number built with US VIN >/= 662
Number built with MT >/= 88 (Available on non-S cars)
Number of S cars >/= 463
2013 Coupe
Number built with US VIN >/= 159
Number built with MT >/= 0 (Available on non-S cars, none of the 10 cars in this sample had MT)
Number of S cars >/= 111
All 2010 - 2013 Coupes
Number built with US VIN >/= 1,998
Number built with MT >/= 261 (Available on non-S cars)
Number of S cars >/= 1038
Comparing these numbers to the total worldwide coupe production numbers I posted previously yields about 33% coming to the US... Using that, translates to about 25,000 turbos (coupes) sent to US over 40 years... Not many turbos...
I have a white '11 TT 997.2, manual, white/black. How many do you think we're made and are your numbers based on questimates based on your survey. Thanks

The analysis suggests that 145 2011 997.2 Turbos had MT. Without getting to geeky in the statistical approach used, a sample size of 30 for a population is considered the minimum. I used this number of 30 except for a couple of model years because there just were not that many cars apparently produced and after a few weeks of looking for cars available for sale I just crunched the numbers I had.
With Porsche not providing production figures, I thought the analysis would be of interest to folks on this forum. I also found the turbo production figure fluctuations during the great recession of social interest as people had less disposable income for such toys or were holding their money just in case.
Thank you very much. Would that number be world wide or just the US. It has 1800 miles on it and I am thinking of selling it. I bought it new 12/10.

EDEZ- would you like to be my accountant? My current accountant seem to make me lose money more than help but I need one to keep my book balances. You're really good at math

Thanks, but I better keep my current day job for now
I have been building out a spreadsheet of data from scsage.com of color counts. I have completed 997.2 non-S manual cabs and coupes. My plan is to get PDK as well as 997.1 and TTS.
I just got myself a Carrera White, 2013 997.2 Turbo S - According to the table above it looks like there were only 111 produced in 2013, am I reading it right?

@FL-03Carrera - my spreadsheet is for non-S cars at the moment - I will edit my post to make that more clear.
According to scsage.com, where I am getting my data, there were 222 S models in 2013 for US and Canada; 49 in Carrara White. See screen shots below:
David, thanks for the hard work. I had always thought that only 188 MT cabs were produced whereas you are seeing 192. I'll take that. I can be happy to know that only 4 artic silver cabs were made! Are we more special than all of those GT2s produced? hahaha
