Default New Owner - question on air filter

Hi - I just bought a clean 2007 TT. Where is the engine performance filter located and is it easy-to-do-it-yourself to replace? Thanks

I mean, its kind of hard to mess, its the biggest, most obvious thing in the engine bay.

Its under the cover. Lift from both intake holes, and then you are looking at 3 (or 4, can't remember) torx screws, and it falls out.

very simple.

Located very near the engine...in the rear. Easier to change on a TT than on a Carerra. Search and you'll find some good pictures.

I've had both filters, I noticed zero improvement or detriment in performance either way.

Seems it's not easy for me to replace the air filter. below is a picture of the cover w/ the 2 intake holes. there is definitely lots of resistance when I try to lift the cover (the cover is held by 2 rubber grommets) and I'm afraid I will crack the cover if I pull much harder. i also attached a picture of the filter. Also, if you look carefully at the intake filters (3rd picture), it appears they are dirty and need to be replaced as well. Is this easy DIY and can someone point me to a seller? I bought the air filter at ecstuning.com but can't seem to find intake filters. thanks

You have this:

http://www.agency-power.com/catalog/...o-p-59684.html

The filter you bought won't work with this intake. You need the factory airbox. Alternatively, you can just clean and reuse your current filters if you wish to retain this set up.

Looks like you have to remove the Y pipe to get to two or more bolts to get the intake (carbon fiber) cover off.

Marius, I have an extra oem intake assembly pm me if you want more info.

As other have stated, the best setup on this car is the oem intake box.
