Default 2011 997 Turbo S Best super car for the $?

I was looking at cars and was happy (sorry for those taking this hit) to see some fairly nice looking/equipped 2011 Turbo S cars around the 100K mark/range.... This has to be possibly one of the worlds best super cars for that price.... are there any gaps that were improved in the S from 2011 (first year) to lets say a 2012?

I am just starting to educate myself on the 997 Turbos... really amazing cars from the early 07's to the later S cars just seem to do it all... AWD, speed, 4 seats, IMO amazing looking cars and as much as I like the 991 turbos I like the fact the 997 are smaller plus price of 991TTs out of any near term budget for me.

Lastly if someone was to go with 997.2TT (none S) is there a year to be weary of or not really? Or better phrased a year of the turbo 997.2 where really has the best value for the price.... where getting a year prior build saves $ but getting essentially the same car as the next year with no significant misses in what the next year delivered? hope that came out OK....

I tried convincing myself a hellcat or a new z06 was in my future but after a few P cars I still seem to come back....

Thanks

I believe the 997.2 Twin Turbo from 2010-2012 are the same. I have a 2011 with a 6 speed manual trans. I love this car. This is my 6th Porsche and second Twin Turbo. My last car was a 99 Ferrari F355 GTS. I don't miss it.

The .2 went to 2013. Also higher milage 2011 are selling for around 105k. 30k plus milage with issues sells for under.

I have a 2012 997.2 TT PDK with a lot of options. This is my 3rd P-Car, 1st Turbo. The main thing I didn't get, compared to the TTS, is the extra HP (30) I believe, and the standard PCCB brakes. Great car, lots of power for me and somewhat performance upgradeable. If your plans are to bump the HP significantly you should consider the 997.1.

Mick,

I just traded in my 06 Supercharged C2S for a 2012 997.2 TTS with Adaptive Sports Seats, PCCB, Centerlock RS Spyder wheels, and only comes in PDK. The sheer acceleration and speed of this thing is on another level. I thought I was happy with my Supercharged C2S, but after a test drive in the TTS, it was over. My only complaints are the TTS suspension (even though improved over the 997.1 PASM) is still rather floaty in normal mode and the car is heavier than my C2S, so the fun factor in driving in the twisties is a bit muted; however, I believe a little suspension tuning will fix that. If you are planning to up the HP over 600HP, I think you would be better off with the 997.1 TT/TTS with the Mezger engine. That is a stout engine compared to the DFI 997.2, according to my research. Best wishes in finding your ultimate drive. It is a truly great car.

Hey bro. I didn't know you sold your car, it was awesome looking C2S, I was in the market for 997.2 TT but settle for 997.1TT mostly bc of the solid Mesger engine block. Are you planning to do suspension? IF so, what brand? Coil over or just spring? Any pix bro?

gotgolf52!

Congrats on your 997.1TT. Nice find! Yeah, I do miss that Supercharged C2S. It was a fun and tossable car. Hauls to redline too with that modified VF-Engineering S/C! Thank you for the compliment. As for my 997.2 TTS, GMG springs and TPC DSC are on their way across the Pacific . Planning to do anything for yours?

Sorry to hijack Mick's thread.

808C2S - I started with dectane rear led lights, new set of wheels and spacers. Debating to put GT2 skirts and techart front lip. Ordered the quad exhaust tips but it doesn't fit correctly, so no exhaust tips for now. I want to lower the car but don't want to lose my warranty from fidelity???
BTW- your new login name should be 808TTS now

808TTS....I like that, but 808C2S still has a special place in my heart 😊. Will keep 808C2S. Get the GT2 skirts! It will give your car that edgy, yet refined look 👍. I don't think you need to worry about upgrading your suspension, especially if you go with something like GMG springs. What quad tips did you ordered?

I'm biased, but I don't think there's a terrific amount of performance upgrade in the 991TTS, at least to justify the cost. (much less the 2012--which I think there is zero upgrade) I couldn't be happier with mine.

808C2S - fabspeed quad tips, but the bottom of the tips touching my plastic trim and it could melt the plastic cover. Also, it give no room for vibration or shaking, I am concern that it could rattle the entire exhaust if it keep banging on the plastic cover. May be techart exhaust tips next
I have a buddy looking to buy used 997.1 C2S, if you don't mind let me know where you traded it in and price? Please PM me, thanks

There is zero upgrade between 2011-2012. They are the same car.
