Default TPC DSC Opinions

Can people with the TPC DSC post some reviews on how the car felt before and after?

How was the ride quality (as in firmness, where is it more bumpy)? How is the control when turning and braking? Does it give increased confidence? How does it change the OEM controls? Etc....

Lastly, if you could do it over would you do this mod again?

EDIT: Forgot to add, I want reviews on the street only, not track.

There are several threads here on Rennlist and also 6speed with DSC reviews. Here are links to some of the reviews. Please feel free to contact us for further information.

Bottom line, it fixed the car.

To answer your question, the harshness is probably comparable, but the ride quality is vastly improved. I no longer bounce over road dips in the "soft" mode. The car feels far more controlled and tends to follow the contours of the road rather than bounce. This doesn't impact the harshness, but improves the feel considerably.

I now have confidence in corners. With OEM suspension in high speed sweepers the car never felt super stable to me, so I wasn't able to go comfortably at 8/10 on the street. I now feel comfortable doing the same roads at a significantly faster speed while still leaving a safety margin considering I'm on the street.

Other options are a coilover setup which will greatly increase the harshness and cost 3x as much plus install.

Would I do it again? I wish I had this mod when I bought the car or better yet, it should have come from the factory like this.

I have it on my turbo and I absolutely love it. In particular driving around normal roads, let alone the track. Check out those threads, a lot of good information there, or give TPC a call.

As good as the gt2 suspension is, this mod improved it. I'm surprised Porsche didn't ship the car this way.

How many of you have done this on a 997.2? I heard the .2 PASM is much better than the .1. So I'm wondering how much of a difference is this for the .2? On ride stiffness alone on the street how do the 3 modes of the DSC compare to PASM in soft and firm settings?

I'd be surprised if there's a difference between the .1 and .2 OEM software. It would be easy enough to figure out by asking a dealer.

As for the DSC I don't think you'll find one complaint on the way it transforms the ride. I love it, I just hope version 2 fixes the blinky light issue

The equipment on the .2 is different. People say the .2 PASM is better than .1 as well. Also what is the blinky light issue?

There are 3 settings to the DSC. 1 being the softest, 3 being the hardest. When it's in mode 1 the shock light on the center console stays solid. In setting 2 it blinks twice, and so on. I would prefer it didn't blink constantly.

Oh it's constantly blinking? I don't like that. Also does it show on the gauge face that soft or firm PASM is activated?

Yes to your first question, no to the second.

I find myself having to look down to take notice of the blink, to ascertain what mode my suspension is in. I NEVER notice it while driving otherwise.
